Fujairah Tourism says Awhala Fort stands in the village of Awhala, dates back to the Iron Age, and was discovered in January 1996 by a University of Sydney team working with the Fujairah Department of Antiquities and Heritage, built over the ruins of an earlier fort.

Al Owhala lies in the hills close to where Fujairah meets Oman and the Kalba enclave of Sharjah. That corner of the map can confuse people: a home a few kilometres away may fall under a different emirate, and the right authority depends on which side of the line the address and the sponsor sit. For a visa, an Emirates ID or a tenancy record, the emirate on the file must be correct from the first click.
We confirm that before anything is submitted. Al Owhala addresses are Fujairah addresses, so residence files go to ICP, and medical tests to the Fujairah residency centres, not to the counters in neighbouring Sharjah towns.

Original passports and certificates travel by tracked courier between Al Owhala and the relevant office, and come back the same way.
