Dubai Studio City Company Setup for Film, Television and Music Producers
Production houses, broadcasters, post production studios and music labels need more than a desk: they need stages, editing suites and a crew that can work legally from day one. Dubai Studio City company setup puts your business inside a media community with sound stages and boutique studios next door. Emiracle prepares and submits the free zone application, arranges attestation and legal translation of your documents through licensed providers, and then takes care of visas and bank introductions so you can get back to the shoot schedule.

Dubai Studio City describes its sound stages as the biggest and most sophisticated in the UAE, and offers boutique studios that combine office floors with attached studio space for TV stations and production companies.
SourceThe community sits near Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club, with Mall of the Emirates the nearest metro station, and is regulated by the Dubai Development Authority as a member of TECOM Group.
SourceIn September 2018 Tecom Group unveiled new brand identities for its media communities, including Dubai Studio City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Production City.
SourceA free zone built around the shoot
The community says it welcomes media and entertainment specialists: broadcasting, production, film, television and music, with design, education and tech also appearing as interest areas. Named residents include DMI, Discovery Networks CEEMEA, Filmworks, Blink Studios, Gamma Engineering, Integral and Big Kahuna.
For a producer that means equipment rental, crews and post facilities within a short drive, and a landlord used to loading bays, cabling and noisy schedules.
Three ways to hold a licence
Dubai Studio City offers a new Free Zone Limited Liability Company (FZ-LLC), a branch of an existing foreign or UAE company, or a freelance permit. Licences are valid for one year and renew annually, and the community notes that a free zone licence covers operation within the free zone.
- FZ-LLC: suits a new production company, agency or label with its own shareholders.
- Branch: suits an international broadcaster or studio that wants a regional arm under its existing name.
- Freelance permit: suits directors, editors, sound designers and other independent talent.
Space that matches the production
Offices come fitted or unfitted, and tenants can design and build their own. Coworking, retail units, warehouses and light industrial units are also on the list. We help you match the premises to the visas you need and to the activities written on your licence, because a lease that is too small or the wrong type can hold up the immigration file later.
Where Emiracle saves you time
Creative founders often arrive mid project. We run the paperwork in parallel: activity selection, shareholder documents, attestation of foreign certificates, Arabic translation, the establishment card, crew visas and Emirates ID. We also prepare a bank pack that explains production income, which helps when a bank asks how irregular project payments will flow.
Emiracle is an authorised channel partner across 45+ UAE free zones, so if your work leans more to publishing or printing, we compare Studio City with its neighbours before you commit.

Frequently asked questions
Who regulates companies in Dubai Studio City?
The Dubai Development Authority. Dubai Studio City names the DDA as its regulator and is a member of TECOM Group.
Can a freelance director or editor get a licence there?
Yes. A freelance permit is one of the three routes the community offers, alongside the FZ-LLC and a branch of an existing company.
Can I lease a studio as well as an office?
Yes. Boutique studios pair office floors with attached studio space, and sound stages, warehouses and light industrial units are also available.
Does the licence let me film anywhere in Dubai?
No. The trade licence covers your company, while filming on location normally needs its own permit, which we can help you plan.
Which metro station is closest?
Mall of the Emirates. The community lists it as the nearest metro station, with Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street the main road access.
Do I have to be in Dubai to register?
Only for a few steps. Documents move by courier or digitally, and you attend for visa biometrics and the medical test.
