Who sets up in Dubai Science Park

The park welcomes companies in life sciences, medical, wellness and pharma, energy and environment. In practice that means regional offices of drug and device manufacturers, scientific offices that promote registered medicines, diagnostics suppliers, research teams, solar and water technology firms, and consultancies that serve them.

Space ranges from coworking desks and offices to laboratories, light industrial units and warehouses. That mix matters for science businesses, because a distributor may need temperature controlled storage while a scientific office only needs a desk and a regulatory address.

Licence options the park offers

Dubai Science Park lists three routes: a new Free Zone Limited Liability Company (FZ-LLC), a branch of an existing foreign or UAE company, and a freelance permit for individual professionals. Licences run for one year and renew annually.

  • FZ-LLC: a separate legal entity with individual or corporate shareholders.
  • Branch: a legally dependent arm of your parent company, often chosen by multinationals already registered abroad.
  • Freelance permit: for independent specialists such as consultants or researchers working under their own name.

Health sector approvals sit alongside the licence

A trade licence lets you exist as a company. Selling, storing or promoting regulated products can also need product registration or facility approvals from the health regulator. We map your activity first, so the licence wording, the premises you lease and the later health approvals line up instead of clashing.

If your plan includes mainland distribution or hospital tenders, we explain early how a free zone entity works with local distributors, or whether a mainland branch belongs in your structure.

Why use Emiracle for a science park licence

Science founders tend to be precise about their products and short on time for paperwork. We take the file from activity selection to bank meeting: application, shareholder documents, attestation of foreign papers, Arabic translation where needed, establishment card, visas and Emirates ID. Our Downtown Dubai team coordinates every step and can meet you at the park when needed.

Where the official steps happen

Free zone regulator that issues licences by business cluster. Emiracle prepares and submits the FZ-LLC, branch or freelancer application; signing is digital in most cases.

Dubai Science Park community

Free zone · Al Barsha South, Dubai

Where your lease, lab or warehouse sits. A site visit is useful before signing but is not needed for the application itself.

Dubai Science Park Government Services Department

Free zone · Dubai Science Park, with servicing through axs

The park's own team issues visa paperwork for registered companies; Emiracle prepares the files and books your GDRFA Dubai biometrics and medical test.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dubai Science Park a free zone?

Yes. It appears on the UAE Government portal's list of Dubai free zones and is part of Tecom Group, with licensing handled under the Dubai Development Authority framework.

What kinds of companies can register at Dubai Science Park?

Science led businesses are the core. The park names life sciences, medical, wellness and pharma, energy and environment, and reviews related activities case by case.

Can a foreign pharmaceutical company open a branch there?

Yes. A branch of an existing foreign or UAE company is one of the three licence routes the park offers, alongside the FZ-LLC and the freelance permit.

Does a licence from the park let me sell to hospitals in mainland Dubai?

Not on its own. The licence covers activity within the free zone, and mainland sales usually run through a local distributor or a separate mainland licence, which we can structure for you.

Do I need to visit Dubai for the setup?

Only for a few steps. Most documents move by courier or digitally; you attend in person for visa biometrics and the medical test, and possibly to sign the lease.

How long does a Dubai Science Park registration take?

The park states about 7 working days after documents and payments are in. Attestation of foreign documents and any health approvals can add time, so we plan the order of steps with you.
